I'm going to get started soon on my trip across the U.S. I've charted the approximate path, which roughly traces the old Route 66. Now days it's route 40 out through St Louis, which is where I part ways with the "America's Main Street". I'll try to post a few snap shots of the trip, although about half of it will be traveling through blazing hot desert in the middle of the summer.
Time is ticking, better go hang with the family.

Dorky Kids
This is what it looks like at my house during homework time. The short one with the big head blows through homework while the cute blondie takes her time... sometimes to much, there is always something else to do.

V day in Mojave
Veterans day celebration in Mojave CA with my daugter and dogs. The event was at the Mojave Airport/Spaceport.
We watched quite a bit of the show from Stuart Witt's office that looks over the tarmac. Stuart grew up near lake Isabella about the same time I was attending Mojave High School .
Judging from the web page, there seems to be a lot of diet problems at MHS that didn't seem to be a problem there when I was a kid. In fact I think there was only one fat kid in the whole school back in the 1970's.
Mojave Airport has become a hot bed for aerospace innovation, with the most recent accomplishment being the launch and recovery of the first commercial space craft the Spaceship one. Burt Rutan still runs Scaled Composits from Mojave, I can hardly wait to see his next project.
