Pandora

This won't be a fancy post, as I'm a little distracted... I've been listening to a website I just came across called Pandora. It's a music site that lets you start your own radio stations by seeding it with a song or an artist. For example I've got a Pink Floyd station, a Kate Bush station, a Christmas station, a Marty Robins Station and my Kids sent me a Cake station.

Pandora takes the seed song or band and creates an entire station with similar music form artists that your familiar with and others that you might not be so familiar with. Either way We are loving it!

If you join and get a user name, shoot me a comment and I'll send you a couple of the stations I've mentioned above.

I've got a paper to write so naturally I can think of about a thousand things to do instead. I've been drawing some of our guest lecturers in class and thought I would turn my new found distraction on my family. My brother and his family recently came out for a visit and we have a few of his picture on my computer still, so since our boys had such a great time together during this last trip, I thought I would commit them to pencil.

Brian has been taking skating lessons after school, he's doing pretty well, but unfortunately this is Virginia and not Southern California so the lessons have to shut the down for the winter. This post is a short clip that I took using my phone. Sorry for the Grainy look.

Dr. Strangelove - I wish we had one of those

Some cousins back here in Virginia. Great folks, good food, now I'm convinced that this Virginia gig is going to be a good thing.

You may not be able to tell from this angle, but Holly is an angel. Holly and Billy put me up for two weeks while while I was waiting for our house to empty out. What a blast they took such good care of me that I gained five pouds while staying there.

Old haunt

When I was a kid, we lived down this road about 30 miles. Unfortunately we didn't stay long.

Send off...

Rather than leaving at 4:30am, I decided to hang around to get a last look at the family. It's hard to believe I'm leaving paradise for any time at all.

Dinner in Southern California with my brother in law, one of my favorite guys in the world, I hope Leslie takes good care of you while we're gone.

I' heading Heading out next week

I'm going to get started soon on my trip across the U.S. I've charted the approximate path, which roughly traces the old Route 66. Now days it's route 40 out through St Louis, which is where I part ways with the "America's Main Street". I'll try to post a few snap shots of the trip, although about half of it will be traveling through blazing hot desert in the middle of the summer.

Time is ticking, better go hang with the family.

Dorky Kids

This is what it looks like at my house during homework time. The short one with the big head blows through homework while the cute blondie takes her time... sometimes to much, there is always something else to do.
